Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Colombo to Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Negombo. Relax and unwind after your journey, exploring the buzzing beachfront or taking a short walk through the Dutch-influenced fishing town. Overnight in Negombo.

Day 2 – Negombo to Kandy via Chilaw

After breakfast, travel to Chilaw to visit the sacred Munneswaram and Manavari Hanuman Temples, both connected closely to the Ramayana epic. Following pooja and blessings, continue your scenic drive to Kandy, nestled in the central hills. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 3 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda

Start the morning with a visit to the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Then travel via Ramboda to visit the Hanuman Temple, believed to mark Lord Hanuman’s search for Sita. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England,” and enjoy the cool climate, colourful gardens, and colonial charm. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 4 – Nuwara Eliya (Sita Amman Temple & Ashok Vatika)

Visit the sacred Sita Amman Temple, the only temple in the world dedicated to Sita Devi, followed by nearby Ashok Vatika, believed to be the garden where Sita was held captive by King Ravana. Later stroll through Hakgala Botanical Gardens and take a short tour of colonial Nuwara Eliya town. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5 – Nuwara Eliya to Ella (Divurumpola & Ravana Sites)

Depart to Ella, stopping at Divurumpola Temple, where Sita is believed to have undergone her “Agni Pariksha” (trial by fire). On arrival in Ella, visit Ravana Falls and the legendary Ravana Cave, associated with King Ravana’s kingdom. Enjoy the misty mountain views and relaxed hill town vibe. Overnight in Ella.

Day 6 – Ella to Kataragama

After breakfast, drive south to Kataragama, a holy multi-religious pilgrimage site. In the evening, participate in the vibrant Kataragama Temple pooja, a powerful spiritual experience attracting Hindu, Buddhist, and indigenous devotees alike. Overnight in Kataragama.

Day 7 – Kataragama to Colombo (via Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple)

Journey back toward Colombo, stopping en route at the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Hanuman Temple, one of the most revered shrines dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Reach Colombo by late afternoon and enjoy some free time to relax or explore the city. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 8 – Colombo City Tour & Departure

Take a short Colombo city tour, visiting landmarks such as Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and local bazaars for last-minute souvenirs. Later transfer to the airport for your departure flight with blessings from your Ramayan pilgrimage.
